Abstract

There are various types of foundations, some are based on shape, depth, main raw material, and resistance. Generally, foundations are divided into two, namely shallow foundations and deep foundations. In the comparative study of the foundations carried out in this final project, the location for the construction of the Banjarmasin FKPPI building was taken. The construction of the Banjarmasin FKPPI building uses a deep pile foundation with dimensions of 25 cm x 25 cm with a depth of 26 m – 28 m. Galam wood is very often used as a construction material such as foundation cones, retaining walls, scaffolding, and also materials for making stairs. Even galam wood is very suitable for use in conditions of soft clay or swamp soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the comparison of the ultimate bearing capacity of the mini pile foundation with the bearing capacity of the galam wood foundation. Based on Sonsir 1 (S1) data, the bearing capacity of the mini pile foundation is 1.48 tons and the bearing capacity of the galam wood foundation is 0.39 tons, with a percentage difference of 73.88%. Based on sonsir data 2 (S2), the value of the bearing capacity of the mini pile foundation is 1.83 tons and the value of the bearing capacity of the galam wood foundation is 0.50 tons, with a percent difference of 72.87%. Based on Sonsir 3 (S3) data, the bearing capacity of the mini pile foundation is 1.62 tons and the bearing capacity of the galam wood foundation is 0.45 tons, with a percent difference of 71.98%. Meanwhile, based on data sondir 4 (S4), the value of the bearing capacity of the mini pile foundation is 1.48 tons and the value of the bearing capacity of the galam wood foundation is 0.40 tons, with a percent difference of 72.84%.
