Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe the effectiveness of the application of the electronic voting system in the election of village heads. The research method used a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive research. Data were collected by interviewing 5 informants. The sample was used using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research conducted indicate that the form of effectiveness in the election of village heads using the electronic method has so far been effective because this election can run well because it is able to prevent fraud that often occurs in village head elections. An efficient form, using this electronic e-voting-based village head election method, there are many things that can be minimized including time, ballots are canceled and the budget issued is only large at the beginning of the implementation. The form of adaptation of the application of electronic voting in the election of village heads has been able to adapt to the Indonesian government's electronic-based program because the community has been provided with training or information that can facilitate implementation. The advantages of the e-voting system are efficient, fast, effective and accurate. The weakness of the e-voting system is that the e-voting tool can be problematic at any time, the e-voting tool cannot be used for persons with disabilities. Suggestions for the Tanta Village Head election committee to be able to prepare everything needed in the implementation of the Village Head election better so that the Tanta Village Head election in the following year can run successfully and smoothly.
