Abstract

Based on data from the Infection Control and Prevention team (PPI) recorded the incidence of NSI at the H. Damanhuri Barabai Regional General Hospital in 2018, 1 case was found, in 2020 2 cases were found, and in 2021 January - April 1 case was found, because nurses not comply with the use of PPE. The objectives of the study were to: identify the application of SOPs, identify the application of PPE to the incidence of NSI, identify the knowledge of nurses on the incidence of NSI. The method used is qualitative with a triangulation approach. The results showed that the incidence of NSI generally occurred in fingers pierced by intravenous needles because they did not use PPE, recapping actions and officers' fingers were punctured by aboket needles and syringes, but needle stick cases were low, indicating that K3 SOPs, especially regarding controlling the incidence of NSI and the use of PPE have been completed. running well, SOP implementation refers to Law Number 1, Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 66 of 2016 concerning Occupational Safety and Health in Hospitals and WHO standards, Application of PPE due to risk analysis and need factors and to make staff safe so that the use of PPE carried out at any time in each service unit, the knowledge of nurses in the implementation of SOPs and the use of PPE in the IGD of H. Damanhuri Barabai Hospital is on average quite good. Suggestions for Damanhuri Hospital to increase the provision of PPE and for nurses to comply with SOPs to avoid NSI
