Abstract

Stabilisasi adalah usaha untuk memodifikasi atau mengembangkan sifat-sifat tanah untuk meningkatkan nilai kekuatan tanah dengan mencampurkan bahan kimia maupun nonkimia. Salah satu cara stabilisasi adalah dengan menggunakan semen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik tanah lempung Handil Bakti dan untuk mengetahui apakah penambahan semen dapat mempengaruhi nilai kuat tekan bebas dan kuat geser langsung. Tanah yang digunakan diambil dari Jl. Handil Bakti, Komplek Agra Budi, Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Variasi penambahan semen yang digunakan 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15% terhadap berat kering tanah asli, sedangkan variasi pemeraman dilakukan pada 0 hari dan 4 hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di laboratorium, semen terbukti mampu meningkatkan nilai kuat tekan bebas dan kuat geser langsung tanah. Terjadi peningkatan nilai kuat tekan bebas (qu) pada penambahan variasi campuran semen sebesar 15% dengan masa peram 4 hari, yaitu tanah tanpa campuran dengan masa peram 0 hari sebesar 3,284 kg/cm2 menjadi 6,514 kg/cm2 pada sampel 1 dan tanah tanpa campuran dengan masa peram 0 hari sebesar 3,275 kg/cm2 menjadi 6,504 kg/cm2 pada sampel 2. Dan pada pengujian kuat geser langsung terjadi peningkatan pada nilai kohesi dalam penambahan variasi campuran semen sebesar 15% dengan masa peram 4 hari, yaitu pada sampel 1 tanah tanpa campuran dengan masa peram 0 hari memiliki nilai kohesi sebesar 0,325 kg/cm2 meningkat sehingga memiliki nilai kohesi 0,782 kg/cm2, sedangkan pada sampel 2 tanah tanpa campuran dengan masa peram 0 hari memiliki kohesi sebesar 0,327 kg/cm2 meningkat sehingga memiliki nilai kohesi sebesar 0,765 kg/cm2. CORRELATION OF FREE-COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AND SHEARING STRENGTH OF HANDIL BAKTI CLAY SOIL STABILIZATION USING CEMENT (By Abdul Fatah; Supervisor : Akhmad Gazali, Robiatul Adawiyah; 2021) Stabilization is an attempt to modify or develop soil properties to increase the value of soil strength by mixing chemical and non-chemical substances. One way of stabilization is to use cement. This study aims to determine the characteristics of Handil Bakti clay and to determine whether the addition of cement can affect the value of free compressive strength and direct shear strength. The land used was taken from Jl. Handil Bakti, Agra Budi Complex, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Variations in the addition of cement used were 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% of the dry weight of the original soil, while curing variations were carried out at 0 days and 4 days. Based on the results of research that has been carried out in the laboratory, cement is proven to be able to increase the value of the free compressive strength and direct shear strength of the soil. There was an increase in the value of free compressive strength (qu) in the addition of a 15% cement mixture variation with a 4-day curing period, namely unmixed soil with a 0-day curing period of 3.284 kg/cm2 to 6.514 kg/cm2 in sample 1 and unmixed soil with The 0-day curing period was 3.275 kg/cm2 to 6.504 kg/cm2 in sample 2. And in the direct shear strength test there was an increase in the cohesion value in the addition of a 15% cement mixture variation with a 4-day curing period, namely in sample 1 soil without a mixture with a ripening period of 0 days had a cohesion value of 0.325 kg/cm2 increased so that it had a cohesion value of 0.782 kg/cm2, while in sample 2 unmixed soil with a ripening period of 0 days had a cohesion value of 0.327 kg/cm2 increased so that it had a cohesion value of 0.765 kg /cm2.
