Abstract

Diare menjadi masalah kesehatan di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Kota Banjarmasin merupakan daerah endemis diare. Iklim menjadi factor pendukung terjadinya kasus diare. Diarrhea is a health problem in developing countries like Indonesia. Banjarmasin city is an endemic area for diarrhea. Climate is a supporting factor for diarrhea cases. This study aims to determine the relationship between rainfall, air temperature, humidity, and wind speed on the incidence of diarrhea in Banjarmasin City. This research used a time trend ecological study design where the unit of analysis was time per month and per year for 6 years. Univariate analysis with normality test and bivariate using Pearson correlation test and simple linear regression. Data analysis using secondary data. There was a correlation between rainfall and cases of diarrhea per month (p = 0.000) and a moderate relationship (r = -0.509) had a negative pattern. There was a relationship between air temperature and cases of diarrhea per month (p = 0.015) and a moderate relationship (r = 0.284) had a positive pattern. There is a relationship between humidity and cases of diarrhea per month (p = 0.000) and a strong relationship (r = -0.665) is negative. Monthly wind speed, annual rainfall, annual air temperature, annual air humidity, and annual wind speed were not related to diarrhea cases. The conclusion is that monthly rainfall, monthly air temperature, and humidity are related to monthly diarrhea cases. It is necessary to collaborate with the Banjarmasin City Health Office, related agencies and the community in utilizing climate data to prevent diarrhea outbreaks in the future.
