Abstract

Since the development of the mechanical industry revolution, machine technology has not been separated from fuel and oil as lubricants for engine crusters that motorbike users and industry users have reached 650 million per year.  Oil is the petroleum produced by multilevel distillation.  This thesis aims to reduce fuel oil waste and turn it into fuel. The machine oil has different specifications including SAE 10W-30 SAE 10W-40 and SAE 15W-40, which based on viscosity as well as used oil if it is recycled. This study uses an experimental method with analysis evaluation impact to used oil types SAE 10W-30 SAE 10W-40 and SAE 15W-40 with temperatures of 360 ° C, 380 ° C and 400 ° C with a distillator to get the results of the production. Analysis evaluation is done at the Laboratory of PT.  SUCOFINDO (persero) Banjarmasin to find the flash point value, kinematic viscosity and cetane index of each distillate product of different types of oil. The results of this test shows the best quantity distillation results are ised oil  SAE15W-40 which produces more output compared to used oil SAE 10W-30 and SAE 10W-40. Sample results used oil distillate SAE 10W-30 SAE 27 flash point, kinematic viscosity 2 Cetane index 48.64, SAE 10W-40 flash point 27 kinematic viscosity 1.57 Cetane index 48.44, and SAE 15W-40 flash point 27 viscosity  kinematic 1.64 Cetane index 48.86 compared to DIRJEN MIGAS diesel specifications shows that the entire cetane index value meets DIRJEN MIGAS diesel fuel specifications, while the flash point has not met.  For the kinematic viscosity only used oil distillate SAE10W-30 meets the specification.
