Abstract

This study aims to determine the effort of pre-service teachers in improving students' writing skills. and this research method uses a qualitative interview study and observation. based on semi-structural interviews, the researcher found that four pre-service teacher participants had different efforts at writing skills in high school. With reference to the obtained data, the students are more enthusiastic and have good motivation to write. As a result, they perform better in writing and tend not to make the same mistakes in their writing. To conclude, this study suggests that the pre-service English teacher needs to improve her teaching strategy by maximizing the use of writing skills in school. She must be creative in delivering the material in the class.
