Abstract
Vocabulary has become an essential foundation in learning English. In implementing vocabulary acquisition, there is an English learning strategy in the location chosen, namely, the English Ambassador strategy. The pre-service teachers have an English Ambassador strategy to improve students’ English vocabulary acquirement since it is uncertain if students are prepared for many words, word families, and multi-word units without effective learning strategies. Pre-service teachers have encountered numerous experiences in teaching English, especially while teaching English vocabulary acquisition through the English Ambassador strategy. This study aims to gain comprehensive insights into the teaching practices, challenges faced, and the strategy's effectiveness in enhancing students' vocabulary learning through the English Ambassador strategy in the specific educational setting. The results might reveal a combination of positive and negative experiences. Some service teachers may report significant improvements in vocabulary learning, while others might face difficulties or find the strategy less suitable for certain students. This study also provides valuable lessons on developing professionalism in dealing with various factors. Therefore, the researcher did a semi-structured interview and used narrative design to explore data needed to get points about the topic studied.
