Abstract

The outbreak of COVID-19 has catalyzed an unprecedented shift in education worldwide, necessitating the adoption of remote learning strategies. This study investigates students' perceptions of the teaching outcomes in reading during the COVID-19 pandemic. Employing a qualitative research design, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with a purposive sample of [insert number] students from [insert educational institution] who experienced remote reading instruction during the pandemic. The analysis revealed multifaceted perspectives on the efficacy of teaching reading in the context of online learning. Themes emerged pertaining to the challenges faced, adaptations made by educators, and the overall impact on students' reading proficiency and engagement. Findings underscore the importance of addressing technological barriers, pedagogical innovations, and the socio-emotional aspects of remote learning to enhance reading instruction during crisis situations. This research contributes to the discourse on educational resilience in the face of global disruptions and offers insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders seeking to improve teaching practices amidst ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic.
