Abstract

ABSTRACT Khairul Islah, NPM 18210093 “ INVESTIGATING THE ABILITY OF INDOGROSIR EMPLOYEES IN TRANSACTIONAL FUNCTION OF SPEAKING TO SERVE FOREIGN CONSUMERS ” thesis, English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari Banjarmasin Islamic University. Advisor 1: Mother. Ratna, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Second Advisor : Mrs. Dewi Rosaria, M.Pd. This study aims to determine the English skills of Indogrosir employees when talking to foreign guests. using the role play method with a sample of 10 employees of the member service division of Indogrosir division. There are 5 aspects that are assessed, namely pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, comprehending, with a score of 1 aspect of at least 1 and a maximum of 5. by using the scoring rubric and descriptive quantitative, the results of the study show that from 10 indogrosir employees have different scores with the lowest total final score of 68 and the highest score of 84. The researcher concludes that Based on the results of data analysis and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that Indogrosir's customer service division employees have good English values when serving foreign guests. this can be seen from the assessment given by the researcher through tests using the role play method and quantitative methods.
