Abstract

Writing a scientific paper that starts with a research proposal is one of the requirements for undergraduate students in the last year of study. A research proposal is the first step that students must face before starting to do their research. This research aims to determine what difficulties students have while writing research proposals and strategies they use. The most common challenges that faced by students are writing the background and choosing the right research method. An additional inference that can be made is that a multitude of elements could play a role in those challenges. By knowing what kind of challenges faced by students, the lecturers who teach a writing or an advisor can find out what the obstacles their students face. Keywords: writing, proposal, research.
