Abstract

There are various factors related to the practice of exclusive breastfeeding, including health services and health workers who do not fully support the Increased Use of Breast Milk program (PP-ASI), incessant advertising of formula milk and family income levels. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between family income, the role of health personnel and advertising of formula milk with exclusive breastfeeding at the Lanjas Community Health Center. Included in this type of quantitative research. The population in this study was all breastfeeding mothers who had babies aged 7 to 12 months at the Lanjas Health Center in 2023, totaling 85 people using a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, 67 samples were obtained and tested using the Chi-Square Test. Univariate results: 52% of family income was high, 67% of the role of health workers was good, and 54% of formula milk advertising received promotion of formula milk. The results of this analysis illustrate that family income has a relationship with exclusive breastfeeding but the role of health workers and formula milk advertising have no relationship. There is a relationship between family income (p-value = 0.021), there is no relationship between the role of health workers (p = 0.055) and formula milk advertising (p-value - 0.742) with exclusive breastfeeding. It is hoped that the puskesmas can improve the quality of services, especially the role of health workers in achieving the target of successful exclusive breastfeeding at the Lanjas Puskesmas.
