Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the role of the sub-district head's leadership in increasing employee work motivation in offices in North Banjarmasin District. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type with qualitative analysis. The sample was determined using a non-probability sampling technique with the specifications used by the author being purposive sam�pling. Data analysis in this research is collecting data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The research results obtained according to the ability indicators show that the sub-district head in mobilizing or motivating employees' work is quite good by doing it according to their respective fields and according to their expertise. It can be seen from Kiswanto's leadership indicators, there are 4 a. Ability b. Personality c. Experience d. Intellectual. The research results obtained according to the factors that motivate employees are that the sub-district head provides work motivation according to the fields and skills possessed by employees in each different agency and the sub-district head provides motivation to employees to always take part in training to hone their skills.
