Abstract
The researcher found that students' lack of vocabulary in learning are among the challenges that researchers identified while working with students' English language skills. The students can't recognize the meaning of each word and can’t manage to structure their writing assignment. Because of that, the researcher decided to use word mapping strategy in improving vocabulary mastery of the seventh grade student. Experimental designs such as one-group pre-test-post-test or pre-experimental designs will be employed in this research. A total of twenty four students from Mts. Miftahul Aula Banjarbaru, who were in the seventh grade. The data was derived from the students' scores on both the pretest and posttest. The researcher will utilize SPPS and the dependent T-test formula to assess the data. The results of the t-test for one-sample paired indicate that students' vocabulary mastery were lower before and after the use of word mapping strategy, with the former having a mean score of 41.66% and the latter of 85.66%. Treatment improved students vocabulary mastery compared to pre-treatment scores. The results show that students seventh grade at Mts. Miftahul Aula Banjarbaru are improving their vocabulary mastery via the use of word mapping.
